AUGUST 24TH BLOCK WATCH MEETING

Here is the latest email from Tammy. Pass the word around to new neighbors, people who do not have emails, etc. Jennifer Lucas

Just a reminder - this Thursday, August 24th will be our next Block Watch meeting. Location: 3232 N Dousman StTime: 6 pm Guests: Officer Bruce Scott - MPD District 5 Police Liason & Tim Vertz - RNA Also - THIS WILL BE A POTLUCK Please bring a dish to pass. It may also help to plan if you could email Belle Bergner (who has graciously said she would provide grilling items - burgers, veggie burgers, etc) so she can get a head.

Lastly - I'm working on putting together a meeting for the end of September. Is there any specific subject anyone would like to hear about? I'd be glad to work with finding someone to come and discuss topics that important to us. Please email me with ideas and/or bring them Thursday. Also thinking that for October - let's try to put together another Block Watch with a Block Party and Halloween event. We could do it on a Saturday afternoon and have everyone dress up (including us adults) and put together some fun and spooky events for the kids. I can take care of submitting the request - how about the October 28th? Please bring ideas and comments on Thursday.

As posted on the Riverwest Neighborhood Assoc. Web site

http://www.riverwestneighborhood.org/content/view/89/71/lang,/

Most recent concentrated criminal activity in Riverwest, also viewable in charts online.
Theft, shows two hot spots:

1) 3200-3300 N. Dousman. Three cases of theft reported in 30 days.
2) Townsend from Holton to Pierce, also three in 30 days

Please - if anyone sees anything in our area call the police right away. 933-4444 -The more people who call - the more we'll have the police patroling our neighborhood.

I also think a great idea was brought up at our first meeting - with the nights being comfortable - take time to enjoy it and sit outside on your front porch - the more visible we are the less traffic and crime we'll see.
